Mission

Law Enforcement Officers around the country heroically ensure our public's safety and well-being, day in and day out. Being able to help others, keep communities safe, maintain public order and build community pride are what help get them through their long work days. With that being said, the very nature of their job subjects these individuals to unrelenting stress and trauma, which greatly increases their risk for physical and mental health issues.

These issues may include post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), insomnia, substance abuse, depression and even suicidal thoughts or attempts. As a group, law enforcement officers have one of the nation’s highest suicide rates. The daily stress on an officer's mind and body not only puts pressure on the officer, it can also put a strain on the officer’s loved ones and, in many cases, causes relationship issues with his/her spouse, children and the rest of an officers extended family and close friends.

The truth is, peer support, mental health and physical wellness programs for law enforcement officers are severely underfunded. The importance of mental and physical health has been overlooked in the law enforcement community for far too long. At Blue Badge Coffee Company, one of our goals is to help change that. We’re not only here to help raise awareness for mental and physical health, but through our financial investment, we’re going to help positively change the lives of countless law enforcement officers around our country.
